Este fim-de-semana foram anunciados vários prémios, de vários círculos da crítica americana. São elas, o Boston Society of Film Critics (BSFC), o American Film Institute (AFI), o New York Film Critics Online (NYFCO), o Los Angeles Film Critics Awards (LAFCA) e o Indiana Film Journalist Awards (IFJA). Todos eles concideraram “The Social Network”, de David Fincher, como o Melhor Filme do Ano e como o Melhor Argumento. Tal como o Prémio de Melhor Realizador foi para David Fincher, segundo os críticos de Boston, de Nova Iorque e de Los Angeles. Já os críticos de Indiana consideraram Christopher Nolan, o Melhor Realizador, por “Inception”. No cinema de Animação, “Toy Story 3” foi considerado o Melhor Filme de Animação do ano pelos críticos de Boston, Nova Iorque e Los Angeles. Enquanto que os críticos de Indiana escolheram o filme “How To Train Your Dragon”. A grande diferença de opiniões notou-se na escolha do melhor actor. Colin Firth (“The Kings Speech”) em Los Angeles, James Franco (“127 Hours”) em Nova Iorque e em Indiana e Jesse Eisenberg (“The Social Network”) em Boston, foram os escolhidos.
