A corrida ao Óscares está ficando cada vez mais acirrada – e, agora, foram anunciados os indicados à 74ª edição do Directors Guild of America Awards (DGA Awards), que visam à celebração dos melhores diretores do cinema e da televisão do ano passado.
Dentre os nomeados, temos Paul Thomas Anderson por seu incrível trabalho em ‘Licorice Pizza’, Jane Campion, a favorita ao Óscar de Melhor Realização por ‘O Poder do Cão’, Kenneth Branagh pelo intenso drama familiar ‘Belfast’, Steven Spielberg por sua versão do clássico ‘West Side Story’ e Denis Villeneuve pelo visionário Duna.
Na categoria Melhor Realização Estreante em Filme, temos: Maggie Gyllenhaal (A Filha Perdida), Rebecca Hall (Passing), Tatiana Huezo (Reze pelas Mulheres Roubadas), Lin-Manuel Miranda (Tick, Tick… Boom!), Michael Sarnoski (Pig) e Emma Seligman (Shiva Baby) foram nomeados.
A cerimônia do DGA Awards em 12 de março também contará com Spike Lee recebendo o Lifetime Achievement Award por Distinguished Achievement in Motion Picture Direction, a maior honraria do DGA. Também receberam prêmios honorários, o primeiro assistente de direção Joseph P. Reidy com o Frank Capra Achievement Award e o diretor de cena Garry W. Hood com o Franklin J.ffner Achievement Award.
Os vencedores da 74ª edição do DGA Awards serão anunciados sábado, 12 de março.
