O filme biográfico sobre a vida do físico Stephen Hawking, “A Teoria de Tudo”, conquistou o BAFTA (British Academy Film and Television Awards) de Melhor Filme Britânico, de Melhor Ator (Eddie Redmayne) e de Melhor Argumento Adaptado. “Boyhood” também conquistou três importantes BAFTA’s, o de Melhor Filme, Melhor Realizador (Richard Linklater) e Melhor Atriz Secundária (Patricia Arquette). Já o filme de Wes Anderson, “Grand Budapest Hotel”, que liderava com onze nomeações, acabou por receber apenas cinco prémios, Melhor Argumento Original, Melhor Guarda-Roupa, Melhor Caracterização e Melhor Design de Produção.
