BAFTA 2024: “Oppenheimer” e “Pobres Criaturas” entre os mais nomeados dos prémios do cinema britânico

O biopic de Christopher Nolan, “Oppenheimer”, e a comédia de humor negro, “Pobres Criaturas”, de Yorgos Lanthimos, estão entre os filmes mais nomeados da 77.ª edição dos BAFTA (os prémios da Academia Britânica de Cinema).

“Oppenheimer”, sobre o físico J. Robert Oppenheimer, um dos criadores da bomba atómica, lidera com 13 nomeações, que inclui Melhor Filme, Realização, Argumento Adaptado, Ator, Ator Secundário e Atriz Secundária.

Segue-se “Pobres Criaturas”, protagonizado por Emma Stone, com 11 nomeações, dos quais o de Melhor Filme, Melhor Filme Britânico, Argumento Adaptado e Atriz, e os filmes “Assassinos da Lua das Flores” e “A Zona de Interesse” receberam 9 nomeações cada.

O drama francês “Anatomia de Uma Queda”, o biopic “Maestro” e a comédia “Os Excluídos” conseguiram sete nomeações cada, seguidos de “Barbie” e “All of Us Strangers”, ambos com cinco nomeações cada.

Na categoria de Melhor Realização, quatro em seis dos nomeados são estreantes na nomeação: Andrew Haigh, por “All of Us Strangers”, Justine Triet, por “Anatomia de Uma Queda”, Alexander Payne, por “Os Excluídos”, e Jonathan Glazer, por “A Zona de Interesse”. Já os realizadores Christopher Nolan (“Oppenheimer”) e Bradley Cooper (“Maestro”) tinham sido nomeados para esta categoria, mas nunca venceram, pelo que qualquer um dos seis nomeados irá vencer pela primeira vez o BAFTA de Melhor Realização. Ficaram de fora nomes como Greta Gerwig, Martin Scorsese, Yorgos Lanthimos ou Ridley Scott.

Em 2023, o filme de guerra da Netflix, “A Oeste Nada de Novo” (2022), de Edward Berger, foi o grande vencedor dos BAFTA, tendo recebido 14 nomeações e venceu em 7 categorias. O filme britânico “Gandhi” (1982), continua a ser o filme com mais nomeações da história dos BAFTA, com 16 nomeações, e “Expiação” (2007), “O Discurso do Rei” (2010) e “A Oeste Nada de Novo”, com 14 nomeações cada.

A 77.ª edição dos prémios britânicos de cinema acontece no dia 18 de fevereiro, com transmissão na BBC.
