A Academia norte-americana de Artes e Ciências Cinematográficas divulgou hoje os nomeados para a 87ª edição dos Óscares, apresentados pelo ator Chris Pine e pela presidente da Academia de Artes e Ciências Cinematográficas de Hollywood, Cheryl Boone Isaacs, e pelos realizadores Alfonso Cuarón e J.J. Abrams. Os filmes “Birdman”, de Alejandro G. Iñárritu, e “Grand Budapest Hotel”, de Wes Anderson, lideram com nove nomeações cada um, incluindo Melhor Filme. “O Jogo da Imitação” é o segundo mais nomeado com oito nomeações, seguido de “Sniper Americano” e “Boyhood” com seis nomeações cada um. Este ano competem ao Óscar de Melhor Filme apenas oito filmes, são eles: “Sniper Americano”, “Birdman”, “Boyhood”, “Grand Budapest Hotel”, “Selma”, “A Teoria de Tudo” e “Whiplash – Nos Limites”“Interstellar” obteve cinco nomeações em categorias técnicas (Banda Sonora, Design de Produção, Edição de Som, Mistura de Som e Efeitos Visuais), “Mr.Turner” conseguiu obter quatro nomeações (Fotografia, Guarda-Roupa, Banda Sonora e Design de Produção) e “Ida” arrecadou duas importantes nomeações (Fotografia e Filme Estrangeiro).

Uma das principais surpresas foi a nomeação da atriz francesa Marion Cotillard, ao Óscar de Melhor Atriz, pelo seu desempenho no filme “Dois Dias, Uma Noite”. Felicity Jones, Julianne Moore, Rosamund Pike e Reese Witherspoon são as restantes quatro nomeadas para o Óscar de Melhor Atriz. Para o Óscar de Melhor Ator foram considerados Steve Carell, Bradley Cooper, Benedict Cumberbatch, Michael Keaton e Eddie Redmayne. Quanto às ausências mais relevantes destaca-se a não nomeação de “O Filme Lego” para a categoria de Melhor Filme de Animação, tendo apenas sido nomeado para a categoria de Melhor Canção Original. O realizador Clint Eastwood é uma ausência sentida na categoria de Melhor Realizador, apesar de o seu filme (“Sniper Americano”) ter arrecadado seis nomeações, assim como a realizadora Ava DuVernay, por “Selma”. Por fim, todos os nomeados às categorias de interpretação e realização são brancos, ou seja, não existe este ano nenhum nomeado negro para a Academia. 

A cerimónia da 87ª edição dos Óscares, apresentada por Neil Patrick Harris, realiza-se a 22 de fevereiro de 2015, no Dolby Theatre.
