Foram revelados, no inicio de novembro, os nomeados para a 17ª edição dos British Independent Film Awards (BIFA). O filme que recebeu mais nomeações este ano foi “’71”, de Yann Demange, que inclui Melhor Filme Britânico Independente, Melhor Realizador, Melhor Estreia na Realização, Melhor Argumento (Gregory Burke), Melhor Ator (Jack O’Connell), Melhor Ator Secundário (Sean Harris), Melhor Produção e dois de Melhor Técnica (Chris Wyatt por Edição e Tat Radcliffe por Fotografia). “Pride” conseguiu obter sete nomeações e “Catch Me Daddy”, “Frank” e “Mr. Turner” obtiveram cada um cinco nomeações. Os vencedores serão conhecidos a 7 de dezembro, em Londres.
